iSAQB® Certified Professional for Software Architecture - Advanced Level (CPSA-A): Improve [EN]

Advanced Module: Evolution and Improvement of Software Architectures

Software systems often need to be further developed and maintained over a long period of time. In doing so, you are confronted with a wide range of challenges: requirements change or new ones are added, conceptual weaknesses are identified late, performance and structural issues emerge, and deficiencies in development processes negatively impact the software architecture and quality.

Content

The training covers all steps required for the evolutionary improvement of software architectures:

  • Analysis: You learn various methods to identify problems and understand their causes and effects.
  • Estimation: A solid strategy requires not only estimating the costs of improvement measures. The costs incurred by the existing problems must also be taken into account in the planning.
  • Improvement: As a rule, incremental improvements are the best choice. There are various methods for this purpose. You learn how to develop an improvement strategy and implement improvements in concrete terms.

Requirements

Certification at Advanced Level requires prior completion of the Foundation Level.

For this seminar you receive 20 methodological and 10 technical credit points towards the Advanced Level accreditation.

Prerequisites for Exam Registration

For successful participation in an Advanced Level training course, participants receive a defined number of credit points. If you wish to register for the CPSA-Advanced exam, you need at least 70 credit points in total. A detailed overview of the credit point allocation per course can be found on the official iSAQB website.

In contrast to the Foundation Level exam, the Advanced Level exam requires you to write a written assignment. The solution is reviewed and assessed by two recognized iSAQB examiners. Afterwards, the candidate defends the work in front of the examiners.

Target Audience

Software architects and developers.
